There are at least two major brands of chocolate chip slice and bake cookies: Pillsbury and Nestle. A major brand is one that can be purchased almost anywhere in the country. Private label brands are those that can only be found in certain areas of the country. They are often incorrectly identified as "off-brands". In the Kansas City area, Best Choice is a private label brand of slice and bake cookies that can be found in many stores.
The problem is, which brand of chocolate chip
cookies do you buy. Do you buy the brand that tastes best, the one that costs the least, or consider both cost and taste in making your selection?
Each brand likes to claim that their cookie is the best. One way they do this is to conduct taste tests to determine which cookie consumers prefer.
We want to find out which brand of cookie you like the best.
To do this we propose you conduct a taste test in your class to determine which cookie you like the best. After
you choose which cookie you think tastes the best, we would like for you to look at the cost of three brands of cookies and consider which of
them you would buy if you were using your own money.
There are a few words that official taste testers use that we need to know before we conduct our taste test:
Flavor - What taste do you prefer for your chocolate chip cookie. Do you like it extra chocolately? Do you like extra sweet? Decide the kind of taste you like and judge your cookie.
Texture - The way the cookie feels when you bite into it. What texture do you like? Is it soft and chewy, hard, or crumbly? It all depends on what you like, but you need to decide before you conduct your taste test.
Appearance - Appearance is often the thing we use to choose which cookie we buy. Appearance is how the cookie looks. Some of the things you must consider in judging appearance are color, size, and shape.
